NAATI, which stands for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd., is responsible for maintaining, setting, testing, translators, and certifying interpreters in Australia. The Credentialed Community Language, CCL, is a certification test that assesses your language skills at the community level.
The test is generally taken to evaluate one’s ability to translate dialogues from English to any other language and vice versa.
Just like the Professional Year Course, the candidates who pass the NAATI CCL test can claim five points bonus towards their permanent residency application. However, the certificate won’t let you work as an interpreter or a translator.
The CCL test result will be published within eight weeks of the test date, and it is valid for three years from the issue date.
